LOG BOOKSHELF – III

The idea for these log book shelves grew out of my hidden library collection. Rather than being hidden away, these miniature books are in full view.

The shelf is chiseled by hand into the inner heartwood of this beautiful piece of Aspen and houses fifteen miniature books.

The tiny books are fully useable. Inside you’ll find Strathmore 400 series drawing paper (80 lb/118 gsm). This paper works well with graphite pencil, coloured pencil, pen and ink, marker, soft pastel, mixed media and oil pastel; perfect for all your writing and art ideas.  Covers are made using an old vintage map and hand sewn with linen thread using a chain stitch.
