This sculptural book is made from sun-dried bull kelp. The kelp bulb forms natural covers, holding pages made from locally sourced nautical charts. These charts are hand-dyed with pigments from local berries, plants, and rust, carrying traces of Malcolm Island’s landscape. Together, kelp and maps suggest different ways of recording place—one shaped by ocean currents, the other by human navigation.
